Another intriguing week in the NFL translates to another wild week in our league. G-Man selected the Oakland Raiders for his bye-week substitution and a few players relied on just one of their three teams to help them out. Here are the results and match-up recaps:
DHARMAHELPER 31 - Epignosis 23
DH got the rebound he needed after his first loss of the season last week. All three of his teams won their respective games in Week 4. That marks the third time this season that all three teams on a player's roster won. It should be no surprise then that this is also the third time that such good fortune leads to a win. DH got off to an early start, with the Ravens winning Thursday night and the Jets holding the Dolphins to 14 points early Sunday in London. His formerly hapless Bears found a way to win over the Raiders. DH's gain, however, is Epignosis' loss. Two of his teams won this weekend. He even scored enough total points to beat a few other players in the league- it just wasn't enough to beat the player he was up against. Perhaps Week 5 will hold Epi's first win. Only time will tell.
G-Man 4 - GOLDEN 17
Much like the Miami Dolphins, G-Man looked like a team with promise early on. Week 4 should have been a gimme, what with him playing an opponent with a defense and an offense playing each other. Golden only had the Green Bay Packers to fight for a win. G-Man had a choice to make in a substitute offense. Instead of picking the red-hot Falcons over a seemingly formidable Texans defense, G-Man went with the Oakland Raiders, thinking they would bowl over the Chicago Bears like everyone else has. G-Man's Oakland decision became our first bye-week blunder. Green Bay didn't score many points this weekend but they didn't have to. With their first touchdown of the late afternoon game, Golden had already put the final nail in G-Man's Week 4 coffin.
LEGGYORLYB 23 - MovingPictures07 -5
Could lightning possibly strike twice in one week? The answer is yes. Leggy became the second player this weekend (and the third all season) to win a game despite having two teams canceling each other out. The secret to her success? The utter meltdown of the Houston Texans defense at the hands of the Atlanta Falcons. MP07's defense lost him so many points that he couldn't even get back to 0, making him the first player this season to finish a game with negative points. MP07's offenses actually had a good week but his defense did him in.
METALMARSH 31 - Turnip Head 14
Four and oh what a team! MM leaned heavily on his Arizona offense the last two weeks but this week it was San Diego's turn to carry him to victory. The Cardinals lost a tight game but MM's Cincinnati defense came in clutch as well, limiting their opponent to just 21 points. Unfortunately for TH, neither of his offenses showed up in full force. Neither of TH's offenses had their starting QB's this weekend, making it hard to put up the points needed to stay competitive. Can anyone beat MM? Or, now that his Arizona offense has been stopped by one team, is it just a matter of time before Mr. 4-0 is made human again?
With Week 4 in the books, here are the league standings:
In Week 5, Epignosis has an offense and his defense on bye-week. DharmaHelper has his defense on bye-week as well. Because Epignosis has the worst record of the two, he gets to choose first in this weeks supplemental draft.
WEEK 5 MATCH-UPS:
DharmaHelper (3-1) v. Golden (2-2)
Epignosis (0-4) v. Turnip Head (1-3)
G-Man (2-2) v. Leggyorlyb (3-1)
Metalmarsh89 (4-0) v. MovingPictures07 (1-3)
